Electrical Low Voltage Assistant Technician

Job Purpose: 

The Electrical Low Voltage Assistant Technician is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of electric low voltage systems, ensuring the cleanliness of technical areas, and supporting technicians with their maintenance tasks. This role aims to ensure the availability of necessary tools and components, assist in basic maintenance activities, and contribute to a safe and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities/Duties 

Support and Assistance

• Assist electric low voltage technicians with routine and corrective maintenance tasks.

• Prepare tools and equipment for repairs and maintenance activities.

• Assist in the delivery and handling of tools, materials, and parts, ensuring the necessary components are available for repairs and maintenance.

Basic Maintenance

• Perform repainting tasks for Line 3 stations, depots, and offices.

• Fix, replace, or adjust panels, lighting fixtures, posts, cables, and sockets using appropriate tools and equipment.

• Ensure all maintenance tools and equipment are in good condition and ready for use.

• Supervise the work of service providers closely to ensure quality and compliance with standards.

Documentation

• Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities performed.

Safety

• Follow established safety protocols and assist in ensuring a safe working environment at all times.

Learning and Development

• Participate in training sessions and skill development programs to progress within the maintenance field.

Additional Duties

• Undertake any other duties or tasks as assigned by supervisors or managers.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Good eyesight and normal color vision. 

Knowledge

• General technical knowledge related to low voltage systems.

• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.

• Knowledge of general maintenance processes.

• Familiarity with tools, common appliances, and devices used in maintenance work.

Experience

• 0-3 years of relevant experience in electric low voltage maintenance and support.
