The role will be based in Cairo, Egypt managing a team for MEP measurement and MEP Bills of Quantities preparation supporting Middle East projects.

The role and responsibilities of the position will cover the following key aspects:

Essential Criteria

• Extensive experience in preparation of Bills of Quantities,
• Knowledge of commonly used standard methods of measurement for preparation of Bills of Quantities,
• Experience of supporting Middle East projects for MEP cost planning and/or Bills of Quantities preparation,
• Minimum 10 years post-qualification experience,
• Excellent communication and presentation skills,
• Expertise in understanding construction methodologies and alternative design solutions for MEP installations from a cost management perspective,
• Management and coordination of the MEP team in the preparation of all MEP deliverables,
• Experience and technical ability to comprehensively QA/QC the MEP deliverables including cost estimates, Cost Plans and in particular Bills of Quantities,
• Excellent written and spoken English,
• Excellent client facing ability,
• Proven track record of management of teams,
• Proven track record of management of multiple projects,
• Proven track record of working on all major types of development i.e. commercial, residential, hospitality, retail, entertainment, infrastructure, mixed use, healthcare as a minimum.

Desirable Criteria

• Middle East delivery experience for Saudi Arabia and/or UAE projects would be a differentiator,
• Working in a multi-disciplinary organisation,
• Working in Client organisations,
• Familiarity with sustainable construction technology and accreditation,
• Experience in providing input and preparation of Fee Proposals for MEP scope of services for potential Pre-Contract and Post Contract engagements,
• Working for a general or specialist MEP Contractor.

Responsibilities

• Line management responsibility for a total team of around 5 – 8nr MEP measurement staff within the Cairo office,
• Contribution to resource planning,
• Management of the training and development for the MEP team,
• Technical over-sight of all MEP deliverables for the measurement team,
• Client and stakeholder management,
• Internal reporting,
• Internal project financial management,
• Reporting on project performance.
