History has shown that investing is the single greatest way to build long term wealth - but before
Thndr, only a very small percentage of people had access to investing due to:
- High barriers to entry - In the form of minimum account balances, brick and mortar onboarding and low financial literacy.
- Irrelevant experience - Catered towards traders and financial experts, therefore alienating the majority of the population.
- Fragmented offering - Investment products are not gathered in a single outlet.

Role in A Nutshell The Risk Manager will play a critical role in safeguarding the company by identifying, assessing, and managing potential risks that could arise from operational, financial, or investment activities. The individual will develop and implement effective strategies to mitigate identified risks, monitor their occurrence, and ensure the company maintains robust risk management practices. Additionally, the Risk Manager will be responsible for reviewing and updating the company’s Risk Management Manual to reflect its operations, objectives, and evolving risk profile.
What You'll Do- Develop and implement procedures to identify current and potential risks facing the company.
- Analyze and assess the likelihood and impact of risks, conduct sensitivity analyses, and prepare comprehensive risk reports.
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures to identify, measure, mitigate, and manage risks effectively.
- Regularly review and update risk management plans to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
- Design and implement measures to minimize the impact of potential risks through tailored strategies and practices.
- Ensure the company adheres to internal financial solvency and risk management standards.
What You'll Need- A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management or related fields.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate and address complex risk scenarios. - Proven expertise in developing and implementing risk management policies and frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in risk assessment tools, forecasting models, and sensitivity analysis.
- Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, CIA, CFRP, or CRM are highly desirable.
- A Master’s or Doctorate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Risk Management, or Economics) from an accredited institution is a strong plus.
Bonus - Nice To Have- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present risk assessments and mitigation plans to senior management.
- Detail-oriented with the capacity to anticipate, evaluate, and address potential risk factors proactively.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments to integrate risk management into business processes.
