The Applications Development Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
- Would be responsible to make application lean, mean and scalable by creating domain driven microservices.
- Application should be self-resilient, robust and self-healing.
- Take ownership of all applications in the assigned sub domain within Risk Technology
- Interacting with Business analysts and managers to understand the requirements behind BRDs/FRDs/SRs.
- Complete understanding of application code through code compilation, code walkthrough, execution flow, overall design.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop solutions
- Determine project requirements and develop work schedules for the team
- Identifying the areas where code needs to change for meeting the required functionalities and maintain traceability
- Participate in design review/ code/ project review meetings- local/global
- Hands on Development using required IDE such as Eclipse & related plug ins, SQL client etc.
- Unit testing, Integration testing, UAT/SIT support
- Manage Code check in, check out, merge, build management as needed
- Reporting to the Risk Technology manager on project/task progress as needed
- Participate in all project planning, progress & development meetings with the team & global managers
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments
- Maintain technical, thought leadership and disseminate knowledge to team .
- Bring excellence in terms of behavioral, technical, architectural leadership in collaboration with global teams.
- Manage the stakeholders, partner to develop roadmap, releases / milestones, and be accountable to the delivery.
- Ensure sprint deliverables are met.
Qualifications:
- 13+ years of experience in software development and technical leadership with Java, Spring Boot, J2EE
- Great exposure to microservices architecture.
- Working knowledge Kafka/MQ JMS
- Expertise in Elastic Search, SQL, NoSQL databases, and Caching solutions.
- Hands on experience in application design & development must in above mentioned technology.
- Expertise in Test driven development.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Exposure to UML/SDLC
- Passion for technology and self- starter
- Orientation towards Disciplined development processes
- Able to write SQL Queries and PL/SQL to Analyze data, Data Model
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
