Job title:Associate Director, Data and Analytics



Purpose of the role:



  • This particular role supporting the UK Business Management team defines the overarching RBW strategy and constructively challenges the business with critical thinking and innovative insight to improve the way we do business and deliver on our commitments. This is a high profile role that will lead our RBW Business Performance team to gather data and insights that steer RBW’s performance against our Strategy.  The Business Performance Associate Director will partner with the Head of Business Performance leading the team to deliver end to end forward looking performance MI to Head of RBW UK and his OpCo, to enable commercial decision making and mitigate risks. This includes management and production of business performance data and commentary, business scorecards and business performance packs that track performance of RBW against its strategic objectives.

In this role, you will:



Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)



  • Lead a team of business performance analysts driving high performance to deliver across a broad portfolio of work.
  • Support ongoing monitoring of key business performance metrics to identify and escalate emerging risks and issues with the business.
  • Act as a key contact point with our stakeholders building strong relationships with senior leaders and business sponsors quickly to dive high engagement whilst dealing with complexities the role can bring.
  • Ensure all deliverables and SLA’s are met in a timely manner with minimal errors.
  • Be responsible for effective data controls and procedures.
  • Design, architect and manage processes and infrastructure and define initiatives with senior management
  • Supports innovative thinking & solutions that results into improved business performance
  • Champions changes by partnering with leadership
  • Standardize analytical methodologies / processes
  • Ability to navigate organizational complexities and drive collaboration to achieve shared objectives.
  • Embrace market / industry best practices and bring-in best-in-class and relevant solutions for better business decisions
  • Responsible for planning and overseeing project and program level reporting.
  • Responsible for end-to-end management and monitoring of project governance and control.

  • The role holder shall also be expected to guide and lead team members from a functional perspective and help them build up a strong business understanding. (For People Manager role)

Management of Risk/Internal Controls/Compliance:



  • The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
  • The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
  • The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
  • This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.

To be successful you will:



Skills & Experience:



  • Background in quantitative disciplines like - with a Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in the relevant fields of study.
  • Robust & proven experience (preferably from the Banking &/ Financial domain) of using quantitative concepts to solve complex business problems.
  • Previous experience in Business Performance / Financial role highly desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of RBW business and commercial drivers that impact performance.
  • Experience in Data production / Data analysis with experience using various data sources eg Qlik, Looker etc.
  • Influencing skills - ability to establish trust and credibility at pace.
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills essential.
