Amazon is hiring a Financial Analyst II for the Global Accounts Payable Financial Operations Services team that supports the Retail, Digital and Corporate payee processes. Amazon businesses are growing and expanding at a rapid pace resulting in a dynamic work environment with many opportunities.
This position is the front line of our program driving global improvements and initiatives within Accounts Payable FinOps Services procure to pay processes; managing projects and collaborating with system and business owners globally to drive end-to-end improvements and visibility to payments process. An ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment is critical to this role. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, a quick learner, and will have the ability to efficiently manage various high-priority and visible projects. The successful candidate will support analysis, improvement, and creation of management information metrics and dashboards.
Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate is an energetic, self-starter and will willfully and diligently perform the following responsibilities on a consistent basis with little or no direction from management:
• Single point of contact for worldwide sustainability (WWS) to build and manage the successful transmission of utility consumption data for accurate measuring of carbon footprint and publishing the growing requirements of ESG (Environmental, social and governance reporting) reporting.
• Partner with WWS, finance automation and finance operations to anticipate and prepare for future technological demands to create a robust, adaptable technological framework that supports both immediate needs and long-term organizational growth.
• Single point of contact for Kuiper Licensing fees payment program, Develop a comprehensive and efficient process in collaboration with finance operations teams for creation of vendor accounts, processing invoices and payments. Ensure strict adherence to established timelines and focus on creating a reliable and expedited financial.
• Exert positive influence with upstream departments to drive process improvements, streamline existing processes, procedures, and systems, Identify and eliminate steps that do not add value. Focus on efficiency and effectiveness and implement industry level best practices to improve vendor experience by paying on time to the vendors
A day in the life
• Serve as a key business partner working directly with business leaders and cross-functional teams, presenting results of ad hoc business and statistical analysis and recommendations to senior management for optimal decision making. Define and measure quality metrics to ensure optimum customer experience.
• Manage program accountability to deliver on expected targets (quality, compliance, cost, return on investment).
• Develop business requirements for system improvements to support Amazon’s growth and strategic business design.
• Ability to aggregate information to generate compelling stories representing the user experience to influence and drive organizational change.
About the team
• Maintain end to end responsibility of key AP process(es) and work with technology teams to understand, measure and improve support systems.
• Maintain project plans, assigning and tracking tasks to respective teams. Locate and identify sources of data, determine the validity of the data, and analyze the variance in the data between various systems and reports. Exceptional discipline of meeting deadlines while managing multiple projects.
• Actively seek opportunities to increase agility by identifying future needs to evolve systems, processes, services and solutions to support strategic growth and development.
- 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
- 6+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 6+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- Six Sigma Black Belt
- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
