Experiences

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (engineering, computer science, mathematics, information technology, or similar), or equivalent work experience.
• 10+  years working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, building automation systems across a variety of building types including commercial offices, Airport, Clean rooms & datacenters.
• Strong technical background in smart building technologies, including IoT, building automation systems, energy management and data analytics.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of commercial real estate industry trends and challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with technology partners and vendors.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards related to smart buildings.
• Innovative mindset with a passion for bringing new technologies and ideas to the commercial real estate industry.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality smart building solutions on time and within budget.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and presentation skills.

Additional Skills and Experience:

• Experience with fault detection and diagnostics systems.
• Project management experience.
• Business development and sales skills.
• Familiarity with Project Haystack tagging convention is an advantage.
• Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance standards related to smart buildings and ensure solutions adhere to these requirements.

Main Tasks

The Solution & Technical Manager is responsible for providing strategic and technical expertise for the Intelligent Operations Center (IOC) and related Smart Building technologies.

The IOC Solutions & Technical Manager will oversee the technical solution design process and design integration management for JLL Smart Building Platform & Intelligent Operations Center. The candidate will use the solution proposed, and upon winning the account, create and design the system integration plan that will be executed by the PMO/PI teams. This will include mechanical / network topologies, system and network commissioning/feasibility planning/diagrams and any physical integration required to implement BMS, HVAC, Metering and IoT equipment into the JLL Smart Building Platform.

As the Solutions & Technical Manager you will be a highly skilled professional with an in-depth expertise in HVAC & BMS systems and operations.  You will be proactive in your approach and work collaboratively with various teams including Solution and Project Integration (PI),  Product teams, Client Value & Growth sales teams.  You will lead and coach to solve complex problems and translate difficult concepts and project requirements into comprehensive technical solutions.  This will require innovative thinking that aligns with business objectives, customer needs and industry standards.

As the success of SBP/IOC grows this role will expand into leading technical integration and solution delivery.

Strategic Leadership:

• Provide strategic direction for IOC feasibilities and solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
• Work closely with the Smart Building Solutions & Engineering teams to develop innovative solutions that leverage technology and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the successful implementation of the IOC.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the sales teams during the pre-sales process, including solution design, pricing, and proposal development.

Solution Design:

• Lead the solution design process, ensuring that all solutions are well-defined, efficient, and scalable.
• Work closely with the technical team to develop comprehensive technical solutions that address customer requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers, sales teams, and business development, to define project requirements and ensure successful delivery of smart building solutions.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure our solution remains at the forefront of innovation.

Technical Integration Design:

• Design the integration process, ensuring seamless coordination between the technical team and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Project Integration team to develop integration plans and ensure timely project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and support to ensure successful implementation of intelligent solutions.
• Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance standards related to smart buildings and ensure solutions adhere to these requirements.

Team Leadership:

• Provide leadership and guidance to the technical team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other teams within JLL to drive cross-functional collaboration and ensure alignment across the organization.
• Act as a technical advisor to clients, providing guidance on smart building solutions and best practices.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop marketing materials and thought leadership content related to smart building solutions.

Business Risk Mitigation:

• The role of the IOC Solutions & Technical Manager is specifically designed to mitigate the identified business risk, namely the gap in the technical solutioning process for overseeing technical solution design and integration management. With this role, we aim to address the current gap and prepare for increased project volumes.
• The IOC Solutions & Technical Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring that technical solutions are designed efficiently and align with business objectives. This strategic approach will optimize resource allocation, enhance project management, and improve technical solution design through technology implementation.
• Additionally, the IOC Solutions & Technical Manager’s responsibility for technical assessment and coaching will boost the team's capabilities, ensuring consistent high-quality outputs for the Project Integration team. Furthermore, their close collaboration with various teams will facilitate communication and alignment, enhancing overall efficiency and productivity.
