Business Information: The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2600+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning. Mission Statement : The Material/Component Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining the component libraries and to createnew specifications and modify existing ones for standard reusable accessories and components of transformers within a central data repository in PLM. Material/Component Engineer will be reporting to team manager of INOPC PGTR Engineering & Technology team Your Responsibilities Support EUC HUB engineering team in implementing and maintaining the component libraries, Analyzing and harmonizing materials and component libraries, classifying them according to HUB/local repository standards. Map local standard parts to global specifications and validate parameter values. Migrate and cleanse legacy standards to establish a central repository for standard materials and parts. Develop new specifications and modify existing ones for standard reusable accessories and components of transformers within a central data repository in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management). Manage daily operational requests and provide support to engineering users by accurately selecting classification groups and attribute values for standard parts. Collaborate with Supply Chain and Supplier Quality teams to ensure proper mapping of global standard part specifications to supplier products. Work closely with core team members to define classification structures and attributes for various categories of global standard parts. Coordinate with stakeholders from engineering and Supply Chain Management (SCM). Your Background : Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, with 3 to 5 years of experience. In-depth knowledge of international standards, including ISO, DIN, IEC, IEEE, and ANSI. Experience with 3D CAD modeling tools, such as Creo Parametric and Creo View. Hands-on experience with PLM systems, particularly Windchill. Knowledge on materials and components. Strong analytical skills, with a background in data analysis and management. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and end users across various domains (engineering, supply chain, material planning) and diverse regions/cultures. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficient in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines, demonstrating effective self-management. Proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to engineering design tools. Experience with the Engineering Change Management (ECM) process. Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
