Work activities:
Logistics:
·Overseeing Planning routes and schedules across all shifts 24X6.
·Ensuring cab movements are seamless.
·Ensure minimal user complaints.
·Coordinate with transport vendors as and when required.
Transport management:
·Directing all transportation activities.
·Monitoring transport costs.
·Negotiating and bargaining transportation prices during RFP’s.
·Dealing with the effects of delays and minimising these.
·Anticipate climate, geo-political etc issues by implementing transport strategies to ensure minimal impact.
·Monitoring transport vehicles to ensure it is in alignment to the company’s carbon footprint goals.
Work conditions.
·Travel: occasionally required, though not a regular feature
·Working hours: flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business.
Skills and qualities:
Ability to use transport software e.g. MoveinSync and electronic communication methods.
Understanding of employee sentiments
Tact, diplomacy, and calmness, especially when dealing with critical situations, tired drivers, and disgruntled employees.
An analytic mind and good numeracy skills.
Excellent location/geographical knowledge.
Good people management and coordination skills.
Excellent financial acumen.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Extensive knowledge of the employee transportation industry.
Good intuition to make crucial judgment calls.
