Salesforce Delivery Manager

Valmet’s, IT Transformation's, Lead to Order Process domain Team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Salesforce Delivery Manager to lead and optimize our Salesforce development and deployment processes. This role is critical in ensuring smooth, secure, and efficient delivery of Salesforce solutions across our organization. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership skills to drive automation, scalability, and continuous improvement in our DevOps practices.

The Salesforce Delivery Manager leads the day-to-day operation of Valmet’s internal Salesforce development team. While this role has no formal line management responsibility, it requires strong leadership, ownership, communication, and the ability to guide others. You will work closely with Valmet’s Salesforce Platform Manager to ensure alignment on DevOps, release readiness, and continuous improvement.

Areas of responsibility

• Act as the service owner for Salesforce development and CI/CD activities within Valmet.
• Mentor development team members on both delivery and DevOps practices and foster a collaborative working environment.
• Prioritize development tasks in alignment with business stakeholders, product owners, and architects.
• Monitor and continually improve the quality, performance, stability, and maintainability of the development service.
• Adhere to Valmet’s architectural guidelines, data governance, and security practices.
• Work closely with the Salesforce Platform Manager to coordinate release timelines, content, and deployment readiness.
• Track and report on release performance, deployment success rates
• Ensure that development work meets CI/CD requirements, quality gates, code review criteria, and testing thresholds.
• Support planning of environment refreshes, release windows, and sandbox strategy.
• Provide transparency on progress, risks, and delivery timelines.
• Support external AMS team in major incidents and recurring issues.
• Support root cause analysis and implementation of long-term fixes.

Basic requirements of the position

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in hands-on Salesforce development, delivery, or technical coordination roles.
• Background working with multi-cloud Salesforce landscapes (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Field Service, etc.).
• Experience collaborating with DevOps teams and understanding CI/CD processes.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce development tools, and patterns (Apex, LWC, SOQL, Flows, API integrations), and generative AI.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps methodologies, version control, and release processes.
• Understanding of Salesforce architectural principles, security model, and data considerations.
• Ability to evaluate technical designs and understand development impacts at a high level.
• Salesforce certifications (preferred), like Platform Developer I or II, App Builder or Administrator
