Department Overview
The Finance Technology function provides systems development, implementation and support services for FIL’s Finance Team. We support several functions spanning across Business Finance & Management Accounting, Financial Accounting & Analytics, Taxation, Global Procurement, Corporate Treasury, and several other teams in all of FIL’s international locations, including UK, Japan, China and India.
We provide IT services to the Fidelity International businesses, globally. These include development and support of business functions that underpin our financial accounting and decision making for global CFO Orgs, and we implement multiple systems including ERP platforms, home grown apps and third party products. We are system providers to key process lifecycles such as Procure to Pay (P2P/Global Procurement), Record to Report (R2R), Order to Cash (O2C) and Acquire to Retire (A2R). We also manage systems to enable cash management, forex trading and treasury operations across the Globe. We own warehouses that consolidate data from across the organisations functions to provide meaningful insights.
We are currently running a major multi-year global transformation programme that includes construction of critical new in-house applications, catering to several functional work streams.
Job Description - Role Overview
This is a challenging opportunity for developers to work in Central Finance Technology team alongside system/business analysts, database administrators and business project teams to contribute to this central service.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Delivery Managers and System/Business Analysts and other subject matter experts to understand the requirements.
- Implement mappings between inbound and target data model.
- Own and deliver technically sound solutions for the assigned components(s)
- Low level technical design of the assigned components and produce technical specifications, unit test cases for the components under development.
- Communicate with business analysts to discuss various business requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot issues; and take a leading role in the ongoing support and enhancements of the applications.
- Help in maintaining the standards, procedures, and best practices in the team.
Experience and Qualifications
- B.E./ B.Tech. or M.C.A. in Computer Science from a reputed University
- Total 5 to 7 years of experience with application development on Oracle RDBMS, SQL, PL/SQL
- Must have technical skills.
- Strong Experience with Oracle Database
- Good understanding of RDBMS Concepts
- Hands on Experience in writing complex SQL queries.
- Good Understanding of Oracle Architecture
- Good experience and hands-on knowledge of PL/SQL (Packages/Functions/Ref cursors)
- Experience in development & low-level design of Warehouse solutions
- Familiarity with Data Warehouse, Datamart and ODS concepts
- Knowledge of data normalisation and Oracle performance optimisation techniques
- Strong knowledge of Data security concepts in Oracle
- Hands on experience in frequent code deployment into multiple environments
- Good to have technical skills:
- Hands on experience in Python Scripting and Cloud Technologies like AWS
- Experience in Advanced performance aspects of large databases would be added advantage.
- Experience of Source Control Tools (GitHub preferred)
- Experience of using job scheduling tools (Control-M preferred)
- Experience in UNIX and Shell scripting
- Hands on experience in unit testing and automation framework
- Exposure of continuous integration toolsets like Jenkins, Urban Deploy
- Exposure to Agile (Scrum) development practices
- Functional
- Experience of working within Finance domain (Investment Management, Wealth Management, or Investment Banking organisations) and broad base business process, application and technology architecture experience
- Experience with data distribution and access concepts with ability to utilise these concepts in realising a proper physical model from a conceptual one.
- Openness to work as a part of a team engaged in development as well as production support activities.
