What does a successful Tandem Base24 Classic Sr Developer do at Fiserv?

As a successful Tandem Base24 Classic Developer, you will be responsible for Requirements analysis, Design documents preparation, Code Development of different Base24 modules, unit testing through simulators, SIT/UAT testing support, implementation, pre-post implementation support and production system health monitoring and stabilization. You will be supporting other Base24 developers with design/code/testing peer reviews. You will take on a high-level strategy and work closely with the business and IT teams to develop an efficient and comprehensive solution to Fiserv's web systems and business service layers that perform well, are flexible, maintainable, and compliant with all state and federal regulations.

What will you do:

• Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle (architecture and conceptual design, requirements analysis, high level design, detailed design, coding, unit test, integration and system, user and performance level testing.)
• Customization of BASE24 using TAL, preparation of unit test plan and Unit testing.
• Interface with other technical and development teams to develop solutions to Fiserv's processing systems.
• Proactively monitors Production health, looks for Production system improvements, and makes sure of Production stability.
• Performs fixes, development projects, and compliance mandates from schemes.
• Responsible for end-to-end development ensuring quality, clarity, depth, and attention to overall scope of project.
• Support SIT and UAT testing for Base24 development projects. Certification testing for schemes and new institutes.
• Defect tracking and closing.
• Handle technical discussion with both external and internal teams.
• Daily and weekly status meetings.
• Compliance with customer quality standards.

What you will need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree/master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology or any similar stream and 10+ years of work experience of programming and designing business applications.
• Hands-on experience of Base24 classic (ATM Device Handler (NCR, Diebold, triton), AUTH, HISO, all interchange interface processes, BICI, POS Device Handler (HPDH, SPDH, APAC), RTAU, APAC with proven technical skills in Design, Development, unit testing, implementation, and pre-post implementation support.
• Possess strong domain/product knowledge of Base24, card payments industry, Credit and Debit functionalities and life cycle.
• Technically strong and excellent in TAL, TACL, SCOBOL & COBOL programming languages. Experience in Tandem utilities like DDL, FUP, ENFORM, SCUP, BIND, SCF, BATCHCOM, DEBUG, INSPECT, SPOOLER and ENSCRIBE database.
• Very familiar with EMS, Audits, NCPCOM, Pathway, Requester/Server debug, Refresh and Extract processes.
• Good understanding and hands on experience Base24 Classic Development in various modules,
• Experience on usage of XPNET configuration and commands. Understanding of Base24 source codes, change and release management, application debugging and problem resolution.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills experience on Base24 ATM, POS, Schemes, BIC ISO, Host ISO interchange interfaces. Knowledge of simulators like ASSET/FINSIM, MasterCard, VISA, Amex and SIMPP configuration and usage.
• Good understanding on ISO8583, ISO 93 message format. Extensively worked with banking industry standard & message formats like ISO8583, 93. Knowledge in Messaging standards.
• Work experience of applying mandates, enhancing modules for EMV and Tokenization support.

What would be great to have:

• Good to have knowledge of any tandem replication tool and Host Security Module configurations.
• Experience of Low-Level Design creation from the Functional Specification documents.
• Ability to work efficiently by himself/herself as well as in a team.
• Agile development environment experience.
• Preferred domain experience in Cards, banking, and financial services industry.
• Collaboration platforms such as JIRA and SPLUNK.
