Your role The main responsibilities are: Architect and maintain robust database solutions across SQL Server and Azure platforms. Design and optimize data models for transactional and analytical workloads. Develop, test, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions. Lead performance tuning efforts including query optimization, indexing, and partitioning. Collaborate with solution architects and developers to align database design with business needs. Implement best practices for database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery. Drive automation initiatives for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and SQL developers. Stay ahead of emerging cloud-native database technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial To succeed, you will need • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in database engineering and SQL development. • Advanced expertise in SQL Server and Azure SQL Database. • Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques (ER diagrams, normalization, dimensional modeling). • Proven experience in query tuning, indexing strategies, and performance optimization. • Hands-on experience with SQL development (stored procedures, triggers, views, functions). • Experience with Azure services (Data Factory, Synapse, Cosmos DB). • Familiarity with NoSQL databases and hybrid architectures. • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. • Ability to lead projects, mentor teams, and collaborate across functions. Educational requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Preferred certifications Microsoft Certified: Data Engineer Associate Personality requirements Leadership mindset with a proactive approach to guiding teams and initiatives.
