WAG REMAN Shop Supervisor

Role Summary/Purpose

The Supervisor will be responsible for operation and maintenance of different machines used for Reman/Refurbishment of wheel combos (Wheel and Traction motor assembly) of Wabtec locomotives and providing quality workmanship. This includes dismantling, cleaning, measuring, assembly, and testing of wheel Traction motor combo. It also includes related documentation, adherence to EHS, Quality policy and technical development of team members.

Essential Responsibilities

WAG combo workstations can be categorized broadly into –

• Dis-assembly & Assembly operations.
• Cleaning, polishing, buffing – this will include de-greasing, oil removal.
• Machine operations – (High tonnage press machine, Lathe machine, polishing, Vertical CNC lathe, wheel lathe). Crack detection.
• All above area will need crane operations, workstation cleaning & tool maintenance, cross training to cover multiple workstations, measurements, inspection, scrap handling.
• Strict compliance to EHS and Quality policy to ensure safe and zero-defect work environment and technical development of team members.
• The Supervisor is responsible for performing the activities of Combo Reman as per work scope.
• The Supervisor is responsible for documentation of activities performed.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Diploma/bachelor’s in engineering with 7 years applicable operations experience in production/Remanufacturing workshop preferably of Railway industries.
• Willingness to work in 24x7 operations in shifts.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft office applications.

• Technical experience of Maintenance/Assembly/Installation of equipment for large industry.
• Ability to promote safe & environment compliant work practices.
• Knowledge of Material handling, productivity improvement, Kaizen, 5s, Lean-flow, CAPA, LOTO, RCA.
• Ability to take different measurement and validate parameters.
• Ability to promote safe & environmentally compliant work practices Team player, willing to walk extra mile for meeting priorities Quick Learner.
