Position Overview

Are you looking for an opportunity to engineer modern application, Continuous Deployment/Continuous Integration across a breadth of core platforms and technologies and foster a community while being supported with plentiful training and mentorship opportunities? 

We’re looking for a Software Engineering Analyst who will be responsible for enriching an embedded solution Practice within Core Tech Engg & Solutions (CTES). As part of Cigna Healthcare’s enterprise modernization and data transformation initiative, to implement real-time IMS data replication from mainframe systems to cloud platforms. The initiative enables cloud-based analytics, observability, and modernization of legacy healthcare data ecosystems to support data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

< >Gathers and analyzes test software requirements for various applications within the Core Tech Engg & Solutions (CTES) organization.Understands a program’s architecture/design, logical and physical data models.Implement IMS data replication architecture leveraging IBM Classic CDC (Change Data Capture) tool to stream data from IMS databases to cloud environments.Configure Kafka as the event streaming backbone, ensuring low-latency and high-throughput data delivery between mainframe and downstream cloud systems.Develop and automate end-to-end data pipelines to ensure data integrity, consistency, and near real time synchronization for enterprise analytics and dashboards.Collaborate with cloud data engineering teams to integrate replicated data with analytical platforms and observability dashboards.Partner with mainframe and middleware teams to optimize data extraction performance and streamline CDC configurations.Supported proof-of-concept (POC) activities to validate replication performance, security, and compliance with HIPAA and enterprise data governance standards.Provide technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and production readiness support for deployment at enterprise scale.Support other product delivery partners in the successful build, test, and release of solutionsAbility to work on projects independently with minimal or no oversight required.Examine and discover methods to improve the accuracy, effectiveness, and dependability of data quality and support.Support the full software lifecycle of design, development, testing, and support for technical deliveryWorks with both (Scrum Master, Product, QA and Developers) and QA team members in properly defining testable scenarios based on requirements/acceptance criteria.Be part of a fast-moving team, working with the latest tools and open-source technologiesWork on a development team using agile methodologies.Understand the Business and the Application Architecture End to EndSolve problems by crafting software solutions using maintainable and modular codeParticipate in daily team standup meetings where you'll give and receive updates on the current backlog and challenges.Work closely with cross-functional teams including architects, product owners, and business stakeholders.Mentor junior developers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing 

Qualifications

Required Skills:

< >Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or Engineering or related course work1-3 years of experience in Mainframe technologies like IMS DB, VSAM, COBOL,                Z/OS, JCLExperience with Apache Kafka technology Experience with Cloud data platform (preferably AWS) Experience with Cloud CDC or any Change Data Capture technology carries a good weightage. Experience with data observability & monitoring tools (Dynatrace, splunk etc..)Experience in business requirement analysis, test design, defect logging and trackingExperience in Git based source control tools like GitLab, GitHub, BitbucketExperience working in Agile/Scrum environment along with tools like Jira, Rally, etc. 

Required Experience & Education: 

< >Proven experience with design, and development of large-scale enterprise application solutions. College degree (Bachelor) in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience. 1-3 years of experience in Software engineeringWilling to learn, go above and beyond attitudes.Experience with modern and legacy development languages. 

Desired Experience:  

< >Healthcare experience including Disease Management
