What does ‘Consolidation’ do?
· Liaise with other HQ Finance functions to align Group closing and reporting activities.
· Interact and manage relationships with various levels of management in the VEON HQ and within the OpCos in order to accurately prepare all necessary supporting documentation.
· Ensure that the OpCos are accounting for (complex) transactions appropriately under IFRS and Group accounting policies.
· Lead and guide the consolidation team
· Ensure deliverables are in line with SLA
· Improvement of group internal control processes (including SOX compliance).
· In the situation of the critical failure of the system coordinate the efforts of OpCos, EPM, HFM support and other stakeholders involved in order to make sure consolidated numbers are still accurate and timely (safeguard)
· Consolidation of monthly and quarterly actual information including accuracy checks in accordance with the requirements of the Finance Departments.
· Coordinate and prepare the HQ and Opcos functional requirements for consolidation and reporting applications in order to improve information quality and timeliness. Implement the approved change requests.
· Complete monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and consolidation in HFM
· Responsible for HFM consolidation content
· Initiate and review changes within HFM (meta-data, entities, accounts, dimensions, rules, ownerships, consolidation methods, reports, templates) where necessary
· BPO in the change request process
· Participation in projects related to automation of financial consolidation & reporting
· Monitoring JIRA incidents from ARC side (prioritization, guidance provision and execution)
· Execution of SOX controls within consolidation process
· Prepare monthly and quarterly SOX documentation (including closing binders)
· Prepare requested documentation for audit purposes.
· Oversee the preparation of SOX documentation
· Initiation of improvements in SOX control procedures
· Perform annual HFM SOX testing with PWC IT audit team

Requirements
· Minimum of 10 years of previous work experience in large groups (50+ legal entities) consolidation with all types of shareholding structures
· Experience with working at/with a big four company and in an international HQ environment
· Extensive knowledge of consolidation under IFRS
· Ability to work under pressure and competently handle demanding deadlines
· Experienced user of Hyperion Financial Management and advanced knowledge of HFM is a must (entities, accounts, dimensions, rules, ownerships and consolidation methods)
· Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office especially Excel
· Master’s degree in accounting & control; Accounting or Finance certification is a must (ACCA, CPA – or similar)
· Corporate headquarters and OpCo’s experience
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English
