PROJECT ENGINEER - MEP

TheMEPProject Engineerwillleadtheeffortincoordinating,scheduling,andmanagingtheMEPtradesandtheirassociated, Design consultants, authorities andsubcontractors.

TheMEPProject Engineer willworkwiththeprojectteamtoensuresuccessfulcompletionofallMEPtradework.TheMEPProject Engineerreportsdirectly to theProject Manager.

• TakeoverallresponsibilityfortheperformanceandqualitycontrolofallMEPtrades.Thisincludes butisnotlimitedtothefollowingscopeofwork:Mechanical,Plumbing,MedicalAir,VacandGas,Ductwork,BuildingControls,Electrical,FireAlarm,NurseCall,Tele/Data,AV,Security,SiteUtilitiesandFireProtection.
• Fluencyandfamiliaritywithallcontractdocuments.
• ManageandleadMEPsubcontractorsfromcontractawardthroughprojectcloseout.
• Coordinate with Design Consultants & Authorities to ensure design requirements are complied.
• ImplementandmanageMEPcoordinationprocesstoresolveallconflictspriortostartofinstallations.MayinvolvetheuseofAutoCAD &Revit.
• Priortoinstallation,reviewshopdrawingsandsubmittalsforcomplianceandcompleteness.
• ParticipateinthecostreviewandchangeorderprocessasitrelatestotheMEPtrades.AssiststheProjectManagerasnecessaryinestimatingchangeorders.
• ReviewallpayrequestsfromMEPsubcontractorsandensurethattheyareproperandtimely.
• ProvideschedulinginputtotheprojectteamasitrelatestotheMEPtrades.
• CoordinateonsiteMEPactivities,materialsprocurement,andotherrelatedactivitieswithProjectManager, Construction Manager & Senior Engineers.
• Communicateprogressandprepareappropriatereportsasneededandrequested.
• Troubleshootandassistintheresolutionoffieldinstallationissues.
• Attendweeklymeetingswithowners,architectsandsubcontractors.ChairadditionalmeetingswiththeMEPsubcontractorsasnecessary.
• Coordinatestheinstallationofowner-provided equipmentasitrelatestotheMEPtrades.
• Monitorstheinstallationandstart-upofMEPsystemsandcommissioningofprojectwithEngineer&Owner.
• Coordinateandmanagetheownertrainingprocess.
• ManagethecloseoutprocessfortheMEPtrades.
• Maintaingoodrelationshipswithco-workers,vendors,subcontractors,owners,engineersandarchitects

• Bachelor’sdegreeinelectrical / mechanical engineeringpreferred.
• 10+yearsofexperienceinConstruction/MEPCoordination
• Abilitytoidentifyandresolvecomplexissues
• Stronggraspofallmechanical,electrical,plumbing,andlow-voltagesystems
• GeneralunderstandingofBuildingCodes,MechanicalCodes,ElectricalCodesandPlumbingCodesastheyrelatetoconstructionofproject
• ExperienceddealingwithMEPsubcontractsandsubcontractors
• Proficientcomputerskills
• Revit,andAutoCADskillsareaplus.
• Desiretobeateamplayer
• Strongcommunicationskills
