DMX and Lighting Control Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and innovative DMX and Lighting Control Engineer to join my client’s technical team. This role is pivotal in designing, programming, and maintaining advanced lighting systems, Media facade installations, and entertainment venues. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in DMX protocols, lighting control software, and hardware integration, with a passion for creating immersive visual experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement DMX-based lighting control systems for stage, architectural, and event environments.
• Program lighting consoles (e.g., GrandMA, ETC, Hog, ChamSys) to achieve creative lighting effects and cue sequences.
• Integrate lighting systems with other show control elements (e.g., audio, video, automation).
• Troubleshoot and maintain lighting networks, fixtures, and control hardware.
• Collaborate with lighting designers, production managers, and AV teams to meet creative and technical goals.
• Configure and manage DMX universes, RDM devices, and Art-Net/sACN networks.
• Document system layouts, patch lists, and programming workflows.
• Stay current with emerging lighting technologies and control protocols.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with DMX512, RDM, Art-Net, and sACN protocols.
• Proficiency in lighting control software and consoles (e.g., GrandMA2/3, ETC Eos, Hog 4).
• Strong understanding of lighting fixture types, addressing, and power/data distribution.
• Familiarity with networking principles and show control integration.
• Ability to write and read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Degree or certification in Lighting Design, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with facade lighting systems and DALI/KNX /DMX protocols.
• Knowledge of timecode synchronization and MIDI/OSC control.
• CAD or Vector works proficiency for lighting plots.
