Perform comprehensive analysis of geophysical data collected for groundwater exploration in the Arabian Shield. Evaluate geophysical data quality collected by consulting companies. Plan and conduct geophysical surveys for small water resources studies. Review of geophysical reports prepared by or for MEWA. Participate in capacity development of MEWA staff to advanced levels of proficiency in geophysics. Participate in MEWA’s and UNDP’s technical seminars, workshops and training programs. Prepare Terms Of References (TOR) for MEWA’s water resources-related projects. The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Min. Academic Education
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Geophysics (Potential Fields methods)is required. Or A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas stated above, in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree PhD is an advantage
Min. years of relevant Work experience
Minimum of 5 years (with master’s degree) or 7 years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience on geophysics in water studies or related fields is required.
Required skills and competenciesDesired additional skills and competencies
Experience in working, liaising, and collaborating with UN agencies, governments, NGOs, civil society organizations, and public international organizations is an advantage. Experience and knowledge of capacity building theory and capacity building/assessment methodologies is desired. Proven experience in advocacy and communications skills and demonstrated report writing skills is an asset.
Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of Arabic is an asset
