Role Summary:
As Manager of Government Affairs, you will be responsible to lead and direct all government relations, regulatory compliance, and public affairs efforts for the company's interests within the political and regulatory landscape of Saudi Arabia. This role dictates a strong network of contacts within government entities, a deep understanding of Saudi Arabian regulations. You will be actively engaging with key stakeholders to ensure compliance with different country laws, regulations, and best practices across the government relations department.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive government affairs strategy aligned with business objectives and values in Saudi Arabia.
- Monitor political and regulatory developments to anticipate potential impacts on the organization and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, ministries, regulatory bodies, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Act as a liaison between the company and government officials, facilitating communication and advocating for the company's interests.
- Manage the Saudi nationalization requirement in terms of quota and labor demand.
- Provide guidance to internal teams on compliance requirements and potential regulatory changes.
- Represent the company’s interests in discussions, meetings, and forums related to regulatory and policy matters.
- Develop and execute initiatives that enhance the company’s reputation and visibility within the government and regulatory communities.
- Proactively identify potential issues that may arise from changes in regulations or political developments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Engage in crisis management and communication efforts when necessary to protect the company’s interests.
- Keep senior management informed about relevant political and regulatory developments, potential risks, and opportunities.
- Ensure that all work related to registrations, renewals and cancellations corresponding to all government entities is completed within acceptable timelines and reasonable costs.
- Prepare regular reports and updates on government affairs activities and their impact on the organization.
- Support public relations efforts related to government affairs matters.
Educational Qualifications & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, Public Policy, International Relations, Business, or a related field.
- Several years of leadership experience in government affairs, public policy, or related roles in Saudi Arabia.
- Strong understanding of the Saudi Arabian political and regulatory landscape.
