Summary:
This position performs all Traffic Engineering disciplines pertaining to design, development, traffic study and analysis
using various tools to fulfill project requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ø Full responsibility to manage the Traffic Signal Control system scope from design through construction, testing and commissioning of the project.
Ø Manage all the Traffic Signal Control designs and integration with the base designs provided by the client such that there are no scope gaps, and the systems are functional and acceptable to the client.
Ø Development of Signal Design, Phasing plans.
Ø Ensure compliance with current MUTCD and FHWA and any other applicable standards specified by the client .
Ø Provide signal timing plans, schedule, and all necessary parameters to configure the controllers for on-site.
Ø Provide pre & post project requirements including product datasheets, design, test procedures, test plans, test scripts, test reports, O&M Manuals &Training material submittals…etc.
Ø Coordinate/ensure all Traffic Signal design, procurement, installation and testing requirements and compliance to the needs of the Contract QA/QC plans in line with the project QA/QC.
Ø Provide dynamic input as required on the jobsite all required Traffic Signal controller configuration parameter’s .
Ø Ensure the procurement of all equipment is commenced and delivered in strict accordance with the agreed schedule .
Ø Manage/coordinate with subcontractor all integration plan/requirements to successfully integrate the Traffic Signal .
Ø System into traffic management software like TransSuite.

Ø Manage the testing and commissioning of the Traffic Signal systems and provide support to the agency’s integrated systems testing as required .
Ø Develop and implement timing plans to optimize traffic flow, including adaptive systems and Transit Signal Priority (TSP) for transit enhancement.
Ø Interface with Traffic Operations Canter systems for live traffic management, utilizing management software to execute signal timing adjustments and priority configurations for traffic efficiency.
Ø Monitor and control traffic signal operations through Traffic Operations Center, ensuring all traffic signals operate within specified parameters for optimal flow.
Ø Apply simulation tools (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM) to model traffic scenarios, refine timing plans, and test TSP strategies.
Ø Analyze Traffic Operations Center data, generating reports on system performance, adaptive adjustments, and TSP effectiveness, contributing to continuous improvement.
Ø Prepare extensive documentation, including design files, test procedures, O&M manuals, and training materials for Traffic Operations Center operators and other stakeholders.
Ø Collaborate with Traffic Operations Center personnel to maintain QA/QC standards in traffic operations, ensuring all system integrations meet project specifications
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Requirements
Minimum requirements:
Ø Bachelor’s degree in civil, electronics, electrical engineering or bachelor’s degree in related field .
Ø Minimum 10 years (continuous) work-related skill, knowledge or experience in the Traffic Engineering or Transportation industry.
Ø A certification of training is required.
Skills:
Ø Proficient in calculating and interpreting traffic data to optimize traffic flow, safety, and efficiency.
Ø Strong analytical skills to address and resolve complex traffic management challenges.
Ø Skilled in planning, conducting, and analyzing traffic studies, including data collection related to road construction, traffic signals, and intersections.
Ø Proficient in using traffic analysis and simulation tools (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM) to model scenarios and evaluate different traffic management plans.
Ø Extensive experience with traffic management software, including TransSuite, for signal control, timing plan adjustments, and real-time traffic monitoring.
Ø Expertise in analyzing the impact of proposed traffic modifications on roadway efficiency, safety, and transit operations.
