About the job General Manager, Commodities
As the General Manager for Commodities International in Dubai, you will oversee the overall operations and strategic direction of the Commodities division. You'll lead a team of professionals to drive business growth and profitability, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement the strategic business plan for the Commodities division in line with overall objectives.
Identify and pursue new market opportunities and partnerships to drive business growth.
Manage the financial performance of the division, ensuring profitability targets are met or exceeded.
Oversee the development and implementation of efficient operational processes and procedures.
Provide leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a positive and high-performance culture.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, regulatory authorities, and industry associations.
Stay informed about market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the commodities industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
Proven track record of driving business growth and profitability.
Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze complex financial data.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Strategic thinker with sound business decision-making abilities.
In-depth knowledge of the commodities industry, including market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in English; French is an advantage.
