What you will need to do:
Procurement Planning
- Implement purchasing strategies for piping material requirements, keeping in view the project's timeline and budget.
- Liaise with Engineering on the type, specifications, and quantity of materials.
Vendor Management
- Identify, prequalify, and evaluate suppliers of piping components, pipes, valves, flanges, and fittings.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with vendors to achieve cost savings with no compromise on quality.
- Maintain relationships with approved suppliers and source new suppliers as necessary.
Purchase Order Execution
- Prepare and issue purchase orders/contracts while assuring their conformance with technical specifications and project requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery of materials. Resolve discrepancies or issues regarding shipment, quality, or documentation.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure that materials purchased meet applicable codes, standards, such as ASME and ASTM, and client requirements.
- Liaise with quality control teams to conduct, if necessary, inspections and review material test certificates.
Documentation and Compliance with ERP
- Accurately record procurement activities, including purchase orders/contract's, and delivery schedules.
- Comply with company policies, industry standards, and project-specific requirements.
Coordination and Reporting
- Provide regular status updates on procurement activities to procurement & project management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in procurement in the oil and gas sector with a focus on piping material.
- Familiarity with international procurement practices and Incoterms.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, materials, and standards includes ASME, ANSI, API.
- Proficiency in procurement tools, ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and piping isometric diagrams.
- Market trends and sourcing practices knowledge in the oil and gas industry.
