PSD Technician

The purpose of this position is to provide effective specialist and maintenance services covering the PSD system for Dubai Metro

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the PSD Team Leader in carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance activities and modifications on PSD system.
• Carry out routine PSD system inspections, inspecting parts for surface defects, perform all level of repairs and technical cleaning.
• Perform roles necessary for the management of the safe system of works, including to meet tight maintenance schedules.
• Test functional performance of electromechanical assemblies using various test instruments, replace, install electrical and electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies, align, fit and assemble component parts, using electronics tools, hand tools, power tools, fixtures, templates.
• Supervise the operations of repair, rework, and adjustment of mechanical assemblies and system monitoring, verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications and to meet operational specifications and tolerances.
• Perform time sensitive fault diagnostics and component replacement on the PSD system.
• Follow the appropriate maintenance procedures and instructions, operating rules and procedures to ensure compliance with the required requirements.
• Assist the PSD Team Leader and/ or other technical support staff to implement complex systems or new projects.
• To be assigned and rotated to the First Line Response Technicians team when required.
• Produce and maintain accurate maintenance records of PSD, tools and plant machinery performance, work accomplished and other information using a computerized maintenance management system.
• Perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the PSD Team Leader and other senior PSD Maintenance staff.
• Implement and follow safe access process.
• Perform night shift and emergency duties when required.

KEY SKILLS

• Must have good eyesight.
• Strong mechanical mind, and ability to grasp the complexity of inner workings of PSD system.
• Ability to use and calibrate various electrical, electronic and mechanical test equipment and PC for the maintenance of PSD.
• Ability to write simple technical reports, routine business correspondence, prepare method statements and drawings as required.
• Possess good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong organisational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Preferably holds a valid UAE driving license with good driving skill and experience.

EXPERIENCE

• 2 years robust working knowledge in maintaining, repairing PSD system, knowledge inopening & closing force and belt tension measurement and adjustment, mechanical adjustment, electrical checks, electrical isolation measurement, part replacement and troubleshooting, inspection of equipment, assistance to FLRT is desirable.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

• Vocational trade certificate or diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent.
