Job Overview
The Landscape Architect will be responsible for overseeing and managing all landscape architecture activities in a transportation project as a client representative. This role involves validating the design provided by contractors, ensuring compliance with landscape architecture standards, and providing support during the construction supervision phase.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Validate the landscape design from the landscape contractor, ensuring compliance with project requirements and landscape architecture standards (local/international and AtkinsRéalis standards)
Develop and implement landscape architecture plans that enhance the aesthetic and functional aspects of the infrastructure surrounding the developments related to this transportation project.
Oversee site assessments and surveys to gather data on existing landscape conditions and identify opportunities for improvement.
Prior experience in conduct landscape analysis should help in providing recommendations for planting, hardscaping, and other landscape elements.
Identify and mitigate landscape-related risks, providing advice on potential opportunities and threats.
Provide regular progress reports to the client and internal stakeholders, highlighting any landscape-related risks and opportunities.
Ensure the provision of all necessary landscape data to the Contract Administration Senior Manager.
Provide technical support during the construction supervision phase, addressing any landscape issues that arise.
Work closely with the required departments to ensure compliance with any legal, financial, and corporate protocols.
Prepare and deliver landscape presentations as required.
Drive progression via coordination meetings, ensuring all landscape obligations are met.
Review and approve landscape reports, drawings, and specifications submitted by the D&B contractor.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of landscape works during construction, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
Liaise with external consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with landscape requirements.
Conduct site visits and inspections to assess landscape conditions and verify the implementation of landscape recommendations.
Provide training and guidance to junior architects and project team members on landscape architecture matters.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Professional certifications such as Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) or equivalent are highly desirable.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant design software.
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum of 10 – 15+ years of experience in landscape architecture, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects.
In-depth knowledge of landscape architecture principles, construction contracts, and industry standards.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple landscape aspects and stakeholders effectively.
Knowledge of sustainable design practices and LEED certification principles is desirable.
Experience working in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries is advantageous.
Similar experience in a large transportation/infrastructure project will be a desirable.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex landscape information clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in landscape architecture software and tools, as well as a strong understanding of engineering and construction processes.
