Senior Welding and Quality Engineer:
As a Senior Welding and Quality Engineer, you will be working with the PMO Manager Measurement Solutions to collaborate with key collaborators to manage and respond optimally on the Welding and Quality specifications across all our projects. This role is primarily responsible to work with our customers, factories and sub-vendors to ensure our solutions are quoted, driven and delivered in line with the customer specifications.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Perform a Gap analysis of customer technical specifications and liaise with Global Engineering and Sub-vendor teams to provide solutions for identified gaps
- Accurately fill out an Assumptions and Deviations (A&D) sheet for each specification and identify areas where Emerson needs to:
Clarify topics with the customer
Request an Engineering Special to comply
Request an official deviation
- Liaise with customer mechanical and quality engineering teams to align on applicable specifications, acceptable alternatives and agreed deviations to the specifications
- Liaise with the site quality teams to develop and maintain customer-facing operating procedures for our various processes
- Facilitate where needed to implement solutions not currently supported by our business system
- Maintain an updated record of all our Welding Procedures on a routine basis and work alongside Welding Steering Group to provide customer inputs on the WPS/PQRs
- Assist the Site Quality teams with final inspections when technical issues arise
- Host/conduct Pre-Inspection meetings with Project Managers as applicable on customer projects
- Support Project engineers in preparation & approval of Project quality documentation, Inspection & Test and Quality Plans, test procedures and quality/technical meetings
- Provide technical support through the project execution cycle including Pre-Inspection meetings, stage inspection, final inspections and customer comment resolution
- Provide trainings to Proposal Engineers, Project Engineers and Project Managers on international mechanical standards (ANSI, ASME, ASTM, EN, API, ISO etc.), various Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methodologies, acceptance criterion etc.
- Maintain a record of inspection observations, analyze and identify re-occurring trends, develop lessons learnt and share corrective/preventive actions with the wider team
- Work to develop project standard processes to more efficiently apply Emerson resources and promote these practices within the projects team
- Supervise and evaluate project performance metrics to identify areas for improvements and implement corrective actions
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address project quality issues, non-conformances and prevent recurrence
Who you are?
- Knowledge of Project Management tools and best practices
- Experience with Welding Procedure Development, Qualifications and Welder Performance Qualifications
- Experience with NDT to include visual testing, dye penetrant testing and radiography
- Experience with ASME and ISO welding qualification standards
For this Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Metallurgy
- An equivalent demonstrated ability where a good proven understanding sophisticated engineering principles, techniques and applications has reacquired
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or CSWIP certification a bonus
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a bonus
