PURPOSE & SCOPE: Jobholders at this level are engaged in checking Pipeline drawings, planning drafting activities for Pipeline projects and inter-discipline checking of drawings of other associated disciplines and lead teams involved with the development of discipline-specific engineering drawings. For large projects they will be designated as Designers, with sole responsibility for design work, whilst on major projects they will assume responsibilities as Team Leaders. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervises Design.
• Studies scope of work & produces basic drawings.
• Checking authority (major projects).
• Reviews and checks the work of Draftsmen to ensure accuracy and correctness prior to issuance of drawings for construction and bill of materials (BOM) for procurement.
• Checks design & construction engineering drawings for offshore pipelines (alignment sheets, riser/spool drawings, etc.)
• Checks material take-offs, BOMs, contingency allowances for all pipeline components required to complete the project.
• Input for resolution of client engineering queries.
• Interdisciplinary co-ordination.
• Works closely with Engineers.
• Resolves Yard queries.
• Compliance in accordance with HSE Standard.
Skills Required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Higher national Certificate, or *equivalent, and an ITI Certificate in Drafting.
• 12 year’s previous Designing/Drafting checking experience with at least several years as drafting team leader in offshore pipeline drafting activities.
• Supervisory experience and team-leader (major projects).
• Good interdisciplinary knowledge.
• Good in working with others as Team player.
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
• Experienced and competent Computer Aided Design (CAD) operator.
• Rigorous checker (major projects).
