The Position


In this role, you will support in identifying and assessing Health & Safety (HS) risks, ensuring compliance with local and legal requirements, and contributing to the effective implementation of HS management systems in Local Manufacturing Algeria (LMA).


The position will be based in Blida with round trips to Tizi Ouzou.


The main responsibilities include:


  • Support the EHS Associate Manager to identify gaps in the HS management system and align with local regulations and Novo Nordisk standards.
  • Facilitate HS processes, including workplace assessments (WPA), safety inspections (SI), and process controls (PC), ensuring standardized implementation.
  • Manage HS risk analysis by mapping risks, conducting assessments, implementing mitigation actions, and supporting contractor activities from an HS perspective.
  • Provide ongoing support to HS representatives through direct engagement, shop floor visits, and board meetings, while regularly evaluating and improving HS setups across the organization.
  • Contribute to incident and near-miss investigations, manage accident reporting, and support major investment projects by assessing process risks and driving HS initiatives. 

Qualifications


  • An academic degree in Health & Safety, life science, biology, chemistry, engineering, or another related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Health & Safety preferably from the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry or similar regulated industry.
  • Experience with risk assessments.
  • Full control of Algerian legislation & Standard requirement of HS.
  • Proactive with great communication, presentation and relationship building skills.
  • You are a go-to person and have ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English & French.

The EHS department belongs to Business Support main department including all support functions to the production such as IT, Supply Chain, Finance, cLEAN & Strategy, Souring and Procurement.
