Based on current and upcoming project opportunities within our Minerals & Metals business, we are seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer with strong hydrometallurgical experience to join our Perth based Process team. Reporting to the divisional Process Engineering Manager, based on current work load we are looking for someone to join us on this growth journey guiding best practice in this sector of process engineering.



As a Lead Process Engineer, you will:



  • Lead a Process team in the execution of study and/or project requirements
  • Deliver best practice process designs in accordance with project, time, budget and technical requirements
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex process and technical problems for a wide range of commodities
  • Undertake process modelling using a range of software packages and tools for interesting and challenging process flowsheets and commodities
  • Take responsibility for preparation of process deliverables such as process design criteria, process flow diagrams, mass and energy balances, equipment sizing and piping and instrumentation diagrams
  • Work with other engineering disciplines to implement process design requirements
  • Plan, execute and analyse bench-scale and pilot-plant metallurgical testwork programs to support process designs
  • Ensure process designs meet required safety standards and actively participate in design reviews

Due to a range of study and project opportunities, we are looking for a Lead Process Engineer with relevant hydrometallurgical experience. As an engineer with qualifications in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or another related field from a recognised institution, you will have:



  • Relevant experience in hydrometallurgical plant design (essential). Experience with commodities such as lithium, nickel, cobalt, copper and rare earths would be highly regarded
  • Extensive experience in the minerals and metals industry with previous experience in a Lead role within a projects and engineering environment
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs
  • Experience with process simulation software such as SysCAD and/or METSIM is essential
