Reporting to Head Technical Training, the position of Instructor Operations is involved in the preparation of curriculum, training manuals, and materials as well as the delivery of technical training to the designated employees and other company staff.
Key Result Areas (All Roles):
Conduct training needs analysis (TNA) and develop appropriate training programs including but not limited to externally accredited Diploma & Certificated courses.
Liaise closely with line departments to ensure that training is appropriate to user needs and business processes, provide feedback on the progress of employees to management.
Develop course manuals and instructional materials including blended learning digital solutions as per course content to achieve learning goals.
Deliver competency based technical training relevant to the discipline on operating units as per the training plan, competency requirements, and the Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS).
Ascertain that all training solutions are developed to enhance employee competency to maintain process plants during normal, emergency, and shut down situations, safely and effectively.
Maintain accurate records of trainee's performance / progress and provide on the job support and guidance during and after the training event to ensure effective transfer of learning to the job.
Evaluate and continuously update training courses to meet competency framework requirements and ensure that training solutions are in line with industry best practice.
Maintain detailed training records for compliance with company QA and audit requirement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
1. Minimum bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering/Process Technology/Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 7 years' work experience of which a minimum of 3 years preferably in developing, conducting, and administering training programs for Oil Refineries or large Process Industries.
3. Certified Assessor / Internal Verifier for Competency Based Assessment is preferred.
4. Should be trained as a technical instructor with the ability to deliver general plant and process engineering learning modules such as corrosion, industrial safety process, product optimization, forecasting, and familiar with engineering simulation software applied for process, mechanical and instrumentation.
5. Work experience in Oil & Gas Industry, preferably petroleum refining.
6. A good understanding of learning management systems is beneficial.
