Job Description:
The Accounting Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and efficient processes. This role involves managing month-end close, and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Compliance:
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate audits (internal/external) and liaise with auditors.
• Work with departments (e.g., HR, Operations) to align financial strategies.
• Month-End & Year-End Close:
• Lead the month-end closing process, including reconciliations (bank, GL, etc.).
• Review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for accuracy.
• Assist in annual budget preparation and variance analysis.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify inefficiencies and implement best practices in accounting processes.
• Ensure robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Payroll & Treasury Oversight:
• Supervise payroll processing and ensure timely tax filings.
• Monitor cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and vendor payments.
• Supervision & Leadership:
• Manage and mentor Kenya accounting staff.
• Assign tasks, review work, and ensure adherence to deadlines.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide training.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred).
• 5+ years in accounting/finance, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle), advanced Excel, and financial reporting.
• Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and communication.
• CPA, CMA, or MBA (a plus).
• Excellent English is a must.
