Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Design, implement, and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent tools.
• Automate provisioning and scaling of cloud resources (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Maintain modular, reusable, and version-controlled infrastructure configurations.
• Ensure cost optimization, scalability, and environment parity across staging and production.
Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
• Develop, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.
• Enable automated testing, build, and deployment workflows across microservices and APIs.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate automated quality gates and rollback strategies.
• Implement progressive delivery models (blue-green, canary, or feature flag deployments).
Configuration & Automation
• Utilize Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for configuration management and system automation.
• Manage infrastructure consistency and minimize manual intervention through policy-as-code principles.
• Implement automated patch management, backup, and disaster recovery workflows.
Containerization & Orchestration
• Design and maintain containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters, Helm charts, and service mesh configurations (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
• Optimize container performance and resource utilization for microservices.
Monitoring, Logging & Performance
• Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, CloudWatch, Datadog).
• Ensure real-time visibility into application and infrastructure performance.
• Establish SLA/SLO/SLI metrics for system reliability and scalability.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive actions.
Security & Compliance
• Enforce DevSecOps practices by integrating security scanning into CI/CD workflows.
• Manage secrets and credentials using tools like Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, or SOPS.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, or relevant security frameworks.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on audits, access controls, and vulnerability management.
Collaboration & Culture
• Partner with developers, QA, and IT operations to foster a collaborative DevOps culture.
• Advocate for automation, observability, and continuous improvement.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, CKA, Terraform Associate) are a plus. Experience:
• +3 years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering, ideally in large-scale production environments.
• Proven success in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automating infrastructure. Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in scripting languages: Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Strong expertise in Linux administration and network fundamentals.
• Deep understanding of Git workflows and version control strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based).
• Hands-on experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools and incident management workflows.
• Understanding of microservice architecture, RESTful APIs, and load balancing. Soft Skills:
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, agile environment.
