Job Summary:


We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure Services team. This role requires deep technical expertise in virtualization platforms, cloud infrastructure management, data protection, replication technologies, and enterprise storage systems. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing complex infrastructure issues, optimizing system performance, and supporting project implementations across our virtualized and storage environments.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide Level 3 support for virtualization platforms, cloud infrastructure portals, and centralized management tools.
  • Administer and maintain the virtual infrastructure, including performance tuning, capacity planning, and lifecycle management.
  • Support cloud resource provisioning, tenant isolation, and infrastructure-as-a-service configurations.
  • Lead the implementation and troubleshooting of backup and replication solutions, ensuring adherence to data retention and disaster recovery policies.
  • Manage replication jobs, test failovers, and participate in DR planning and testing exercises.
  • Configure, monitor, and optimize enterprise storage systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with L1/L2 teams to escalate and resolve complex incidents and service requests.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for critical incidents and implement permanent fixes.
  • Document infrastructure designs, operational procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Provide technical guidance during infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and project rollouts.
  • Support patching, hardening, and compliance efforts related to core infrastructure platforms.

Required Skills & Experience:


  • Proven experience managing large-scale virtualized environments (compute and cloud infrastructure).
  • Hands-on expertise with resource pools, virtual machine orchestration, and high-availability clustering.
  • Strong background in backup technologies, including job configuration, restore testing, and backup repository management.
  • Solid understanding of replication solutions and disaster recovery design.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise-grade storage systems, including LUN provisioning, storage tiering, and snapshot technologies.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting performance, connectivity, and hardware-related issues in virtual and storage environments.
  • Familiarity with automation, scripting, and infrastructure monitoring tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical thinking, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience in Linux will be preferred.
  • Technologies used: VMWare ESX, VMWare vCenter, VMWare vCloud Director, Veeam Backup and Replication, Zerto, Microsoft Windows, Linux (RHEL and Ubuntu), Oracle KVM, SQL Server.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in an enterprise infrastructure role, with at least 2+ years in a senior or L3 position.
  • VMWare VCP DCV. VCAP preferred.
  • Microsoft certifications will be good to have.
  • Cloud certifications will be good to have.
