The Role
Reporting to the Director of Payments, Risk and Fintech, you will be in charge of Wego Payment & Risk Operations, responsible to give our customers the best payment experience.
The ideal candidate will lead and manage a small, skilled team, overseeing payment operations and risk management processes. You will be a key driver in ensuring that the company’s payment systems are optimized for efficiency, security, and customer satisfaction, while minimizing fraud and operational risks. This is a cross-functional role that will require strong collaboration with Front-office and Back-office teams as well as Product.
Your day to day involves:
In addition to payment and risk management knowledge, experience in the travel industry would be bonus to have.
Responsibilities
Payment Processing: Manage and oversee payment processing activities, including the collection, verification, and recording of payment data. Ensure accurate and timely processing of payments through various channels, such as online card payments, bank transfers, payment links.
Lead and Manage the Payment and Risk Team: Oversee the daily operations of the payment and risk management team, ensuring smooth workflows and clear communication.
KPI-Driven Performance Management: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team efficiency, operational success, and risk mitigation efforts.
Vendor and Partner Management: Collaborate with, payment processors, financial institutions, Fraud management suppliers to establish and maintain effective relationships. Ensure seamless integration of payment systems and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise.
Operational Excellence: Develop, refine, and implement operational procedures to improve payment processes and enhance risk controls.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, sales, customer support, and Product, to streamline payment processes and improve the overall customer experience. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives related to payment operations and system enhancements.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks related to payments, including fraud detection and prevention strategies.
Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on payment activities, including transaction volumes, payment trends, and performance metrics. Analyze data to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance payment operations and drive business growth.
Team Development: Mentor and coach your team, encouraging growth, skill development, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
