Giza Systems is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented QC Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic quality control team. As a QC Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our mechanical systems through hands-on inspection and testing. Your expertise will be vital in areas such as firefighting systems, pipelines, tanks, HVAC, and welding activities. This position requires a strong technical background in mechanical engineering, extensive knowledge of quality control processes, and excellent problem-solving abilities
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of all mechanical project specifications and engineering documents, including (Layouts, Shop Drawings, P&ID, Isometric Drawings, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Installation Standards, etc.) to ensure full understanding and compliance.
- Implement and adhere to quality control plans (ITPs, Checklists, Method Statements, etc.) as required by the project and company policy.
- Review mechanical submittals (material, prequalification, vendor documents, etc.) to ensure full compliance with project specifications and relevant local and international codes (e.g., ASME, API, NFPA).
- Perform thorough inspections of all delivered mechanical materials and equipment to ensure they match approved submittals and project specifications.
- Execute all on-site inspection and testing activities for mechanical systems, with a particular focus on:
- Firefighting systems: Pumps, piping networks, sprinklers, suppression systems.
- Pipelines: Fabrication, installation, hydrostatic testing, flushing, and pressure testing.
- Tanks: Fabrication, erection, testing, and coating inspections.
- Welding: Monitor welding activities, perform visual inspections, coordinate with NDT subcontractors, and review results.
- HVAC systems: Ducting, equipment installation, and performance testing.
- Identify, document, and report any deviations from the approved quality plan; raise necessary Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and track them to ensure proper resolution.
- Participate in root cause analysis for quality issues and recommend effective corrective actions.
- Liaise effectively with the design, engineering, and installation teams to provide real-time feedback and resolve quality concerns.
- Actively participate in project meetings to discuss quality-related matters and provide technical input.
- Meticulously maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all QC processes, inspection and test results, welding records, and compliance documentation.
- Generate clear and concise quality reports as required, outlining inspection status and any corrective actions taken.
- Adhere to and promote company HSE policies and regulations, ensuring full awareness of job risk assessments and environmental aspects.
- Participate in audits of suppliers and subcontractors to ensure their compliance with quality requirements.
