Mission

JOB PURPOSE: 



To lead and manage the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering scope across all phases of project design, coordination, and execution. The role ensures technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and integration of MEP systems within the overall project framework. The Sr MEP Lead Engineer is responsible for supervising design reviews, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, overseeing site implementation, and resolving technical issues to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery. Additionally, the role supports team development, safety adherence, and continuous improvement in MEP engineering practices. 



Profile

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES 



Leadership & Team Management



•Lead and oversee the MEP Engineering Team throughout all stages of design and construction.



•Mentor and guide Jr engineers, ensuring continuous technical development and knowledge transfer within the team.



Design Review & Technical Validation



•Review, validate, and provide approvals on all MEP engineering drawings, technical specifications, and coordination layouts.



•Ensure designs align with local regulations, international standards, and client requirements.



•Evaluate and approve method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings for compliance and constructability.



Coordination & Integration



•Coordinate the MEP scope with other engineering disciplines, ensuring seamless integration throughout the project lifecycle.



•Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to resolve design or interface issues.



Site Execution & Supervision



•Supervise MEP subcontractors during on-site execution, ensuring adherence to approved plans and resolving any technical conflicts.



•Ensure that MEP systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications and contractual obligations.



•Monitor field activities to ensure safety protocols and quality standards are consistently met.



Project Documentation & Controls



•Manage RFIs, NCRs  and other technical correspondence.



•Support the project team in identifying and implementing value engineering opportunities and cost-saving measures.



•Participate in project progress meetings and provide timely updates on MEP work status, risks, and mitigation plans.



ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE



QUALIFICATIONS:



•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.



•Fluent in English and Arabic, French is a plus.



KNOWLEDGE:



•Strong knowledge of HVAC, fire protection, power distribution, ELV, and plumbing systems.



•Familiarity with MEP design software such as AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and BIM tools.



EXPERIENCE:



•Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in MEP engineering, including at least 3 to 5 years in a senior or lead engineering position.



•Demonstrated experience working on large-scale infrastructure, commercial, or mixed-use development projects. 



•Experience working with international codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, IPC, etc.) is essential.
