Mission

JOB PURPOSE: 



The Sr Telecom Engineer is responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and optimal performance of all telecommunication systems (MSN, Fiber, TETRA, CCTV, PA, Master Clock, Fire Detection, etc.). The role involves advanced troubleshooting, lifecycle asset management, and leading a team of engineers and technicians. Acting as the technical authority, the Senior Engineer ensures compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards while driving continuous improvement across telecom systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES 



Leadership & People Management



•Supervise, coach, and mentor telecom engineers and technicians, promoting skills development and knowledge transfer.



•Foster a collaborative team culture built on trust, accountability, and continuous learning.



•Allocate preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, ensuring efficiency and timely delivery.



Technical & Operational Oversight



•Manage escalated technical issues, validate fault analyses, and authorize corrective actions.



•Ensure telecom maintenance activities comply with safety, quality, and technical standards.



•Monitor and analyze asset performance, identifying anomalies and implementing corrective measures.



•Conduct inspections to verify work quality, efficiency, and compliance with procedures.



•Provide technical support for telecom systems across facilities and trains.



Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement



•Represent telecom in interdepartmental coordination meetings and external stakeholder engagements.



•Ensure effective communication by keeping management informed, addressing team queries, and providing analytical performance reports.



•Support audits and ensure traceability of activities through accurate reporting and database updates.



Process & Continuous Improvement



•Manage site logistics, stock control, documentation, and tool calibration.



•Oversee the effective execution of preventive and corrective maintenance plans.



•Promote continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements.



•Undertake additional responsibilities as required, aligned with organizational goals.



ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE



Qualifications



•Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.



•Fluency in English and Arabic, French is a plus.



Knowledge



•Strong foundation in telecommunications and electronics systems maintenance.



•Proficiency in troubleshooting methodologies and maintenance practices.



•Understanding of team leadership and change management principles.



•Familiarity with Maintenance Management Systems (MMS), such as Maximo.



•Awareness of safety management and regulatory compliance standards.



•Competence in IT tools and common business applications (MS Office, Outlook, etc.).



Experience



•5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in the railway industry.



•Proven expertise in telecom systems management and maintenance.
