The ideal candidate combines strong technical understanding with disciplined operational leadership and the ability to translate business and clinical needs into resilient technical operations.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Own day-to-day technical operations for healthcare software platforms, including production systems, environments, and releases.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of applications and infrastructure.
  • Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and post-incident improvements.

Infrastructure & Platform Oversight

  • Oversee cloud and on-prem infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or similar).
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Ensure disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity plans are defined, tested, and maintained.

Compliance, Security & Quality

  • Ensure systems comply with healthcare regulations and standards (e.g. HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001, local health data regulations).
  • Work closely with security teams to enforce data protection, access controls, and audit readiness.
  • Support validation, documentation, and operational audits required in healthcare environments.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as a bridge between engineering, product, QA, customer support, and clinical/business stakeholders.
  • Translate operational risks into clear business impact and mitigation plans.
  • Support delivery teams by removing operational blockers and improving system readiness.

Team & Process Leadership

  • Lead and mentor DevOps, SRE, and technical operations team members.
  • Define and continuously improve operational processes, SLAs, and KPIs.
  • Promote a culture of reliability, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in software operations, DevOps, or technical operations roles.
  • Proven experience managing production systems in regulated environments (healthcare preferred).
  • Strong understanding of modern software architectures, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, incident management, and release management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare software, health IT, or life sciences technology.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 13485, or similar.
  • Experience scaling operations for SaaS platforms.
  • Background in Agile and DevOps practices.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong operational mindset with attention to risk, reliability, and detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Calm, structured leadership during incidents and high-pressure situations.
  • Process-driven, but pragmatic and delivery-focused.

What Success Looks Like

  • Stable, secure, and compliant healthcare platforms.
  • Reduced incident frequency and faster recovery times.
  • Clear operational visibility through metrics and reporting.
  • Strong collaboration between engineering, operations, and business teams.
