About this role


The Aladdin Studio team is focused on developing a world-class digital experience which will help developers of all types build faster and more effectively on Aladdin. We are evolving the Studio Developer platform as an integrated digital application where you can discover data, build your own financial apps, and access industry-leading content, documentation and insight – with all of this delivered via a design-forward and client-centric experience.


As a regional team lead within Studio Developer Operations, you will lead a team that is responsible for delivering the Studio Developer Platform to some of the most technically sophisticated users of Aladdin. You and your team will be responsible for elevating the observability framework of Studio Developer and solving problems of significant scale, impact and importance. The Studio Developer product is going through a period of significant growth, so we are looking for a leader that is both technically competent and also has a willingness to learn new things across technical disciplines as our platform evolves.   


Role Description


  • Leading a talented team who are responsible for supporting and delivering the Studio Developer platform.


  • Enhance and own our platform observability framework by refining and deploying telemetry based alerting and corresponding Incident and Problem Management processes.


  • Be involved from inception of projects, understanding requirements, designing & developing solutions, and incorporating them into the designs of our platforms


  • Defining, implementing and ensuring accountability for platform wide Service Level Agreements (SLAs) through monitoring and measuring platform availability, performance, and overall health.


  • Act as a mentor to your team and wider organisation on technology and best practices of platform and service delivery.


  • Own and build regional relationships with key internal and external clients.


  • Partner with our Engineering, Product and Program Management teams in supporting the growth of our product and platform.


  • Assist in troubleshooting issues, support the operation of production software


  • Write technical documentation


Desirable Skills


  • Proven experience building, managing and supporting large-scale platforms.


  • Understanding of the K8s Operator Pattern -- comfort and courage to wade into (predominantly golang based) operator implementation code bases 


  • Significant hands-on experience deploying and owning log management and observability platform tooling: SPLUNK / Prometheus / Grafana, AlertManager.


  • Strong attention to details and focus on high quality delivery. 


  • Comfortable reading and writing Python code.


  • Comfortable working with clients and partners at all levels of the business. 


  • Relentless desire for understanding how processes work and entrepreneurial drive to learn new skills and technologies. 


  • Experience automating workflows and familiarity with AIOps concepts.


  • Experience in leading a team and is comfortable in providing technical mentorship.


We are looking for candidates with 7+ years of hand-on experience working as part of Platform Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps or related engineering teams
