Assistant Manager / Associate Manager – Procurement

The role is responsible for managing procurement of packaging materials for ITC’s Personal Care Business. The incumbent will drive supplier management, purchase operations, and cost efficiency while ensuring seamless material availability, quality, and compliance. The position demands strong functional expertise in purchasing and proficiency in SAP. Key Responsibilities · Manage end-to-end purchase and procurement of primary and secondary packaging materials (cartons, labels, bottles, caps, tubes, pumps, etc.) Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and service excellence. Drive value engineering, cost optimization, and sustainability initiatives in packaging. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Planning, R&D, and Finance to support innovation and ensure uninterrupted supply. Monitor supplier performance and take corrective actions for quality or delivery deviations. Maintain accurate purchase data, ensure compliance with procurement policies, and manage operations efficiently through SAP. Stay updated on market trends, alternate materials, and new technologies relevant to packaging. Requirements Key Competencies Strong commercial and negotiation acumen. Deep understanding of purchasing processes and supplier management. Proficiency in SAP and data management. Collaboration, problem-solving, and execution excellence. Qualifications & Experience Graduate in Engineering / Science / Commerce. Preferred qualification: Diploma or certification in Materials Management from the Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM) or equivalent. Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Purchase / Procurement, preferably in packaging materials for FMCG, personal care, or manufacturing industries. SAP proficiency is mandatory.
