Job Title - Assistant Manager Engineering -Projects & Cost Control




Job Purpose



  • Responsible for Control & Governance of Site projects to meet Safety, Quality, Cost & Schedule targets.
  • Responsible for Planning & Scheduling of Site Capex projects & tracking the Schedule.
  • Responsible for Cost control of Site projects.
  • Assist Site Capex lead with the financial aspects of managing projects.
  • Work with Site finance representative to ensure alignment between Capex plan, Cash flows, timely Capitalization & Capex budget update cycles.
  • Assist Site Capex lead for preparation yearly Facility Investment plan (i.e yearly Capex budget)
  • Monthly & Fortnightly reporting of Capex progress through Governance meetings
  • Review of Project Investment Proposals prepared by Project Managers
  • Managing Site Procurement & Finance audits representing Site Engineering
  • Managing Site Fixed asset register representing Site Engineering
  • To Execute and Supervise daily project activities for the projects lead by Site’s Project engineering stream
  • Responsible for Facility Maintenance Opex budget controls

Key Responsibilities



Preparation of Monthly Site project report consisting of Milestone tracking, Cashflow, Capitalization, Safe manhours & key project updates. Preparation of report by using SAP transaction codes & Analysis using advance excel. Use of SAP transaction codes like:



  • SAP transaction codes like : ZFI_CAPEX AUC Project WBS report in SAP, Procurement reporting 704, ME2J, FAFLB03 – Display Balances, ME2N,

Carry out monthly Capitalization cycle of Completed project in coordination with Finance representative & respective Project managers. Use of following SAP transaction codes & Excel analysis



  • SAP transaction codes like : CJI3,CJI5, Procurement reporting 704, ZFI_Assets
  • TOM 7 process for Asset Creation & Capitalization-R2R110 excel based report

Perform monthly SOX Compliance reporting (Sarbanes-Oxley) Use of following financial reporting



  • R2R-016 Excel based report
  • R2R-016BL Excel based report
  • Justify Variance against plan

Project WBS creation, extension & closure in SAP/Fiori DCF




Coordination with Finance teams using Service portal, Ticket raising, Teams call to resolve issues related to Invoicing, Project progress, Capitalization etc. Resolve Project team member billing issues.




Prepare & maintain Baseline Capex excel sheet document for finalised yearly Facility Investment plan (FIP). Ensure tracking of additions, substitutions, deletions of projects & assigned budget




Project Change and risk Management, Ensure timely communication and endorsement from leadership teams for project changes/scope creep etc.




Participate in self, internal, and external audits as per schedule. Ensure accountability & timely closure of audit actions




Preparation BOQ/Tender for Civil/Electrical/Mechanical project work




Raise Shopping cart/P.O in SAP as per the procurement procedure of fair market values




Carry out Invoicing activities after PRECISE measurement of Completed work.




Implement GSK Project Management framework (PMF) requirements




To lead and coordinate the CAPEX and OPEX governance process and cross-functional teams co-ordination for effective execution of capital projects




Ensure regulatory Compliance in terms of requirements of MIDC plan approvals, Fire approvals, DISH approvals & Building Completion certification




Knowledge/ Education / Experience Required



A. Educational Background
1. Minimum Level of Education - Bachelor of Engineering stream.



Area of Specialization - SAP transaction expertise, Advance excel & PowerPoint expertise, financial acumen, Monitoring & Controlling of Projects.



Why is this Level of Education Required? - To take responsibility of Project controls & Cost Manager




2. Preferred Level of Education -



  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil / Electrical preferred.
  • Knowledge of Project Management

B. Job-Related Experience
Minimum Level of Job-Related Experience required - 5 to 6 yrs of working experience in a Pharmaceutical/FMCG /Chemicals/Construction
