Associate Software Engineer

At the Associate level in the Software & Platform Engineering track, software engineers build core skills in backend development, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems.

We build and operate reliable backend services that power customer‑facing and internal platforms. This role focuses on learning how application components, cloud services, and data stores work together.

Engineers at this level contribute to service and platform designs with guidance from experienced team members. They learn through hands‑on development, feedback, and operational support. The impact of this role is building safe, reliable systems while growing technical confidence and capability!

• Develop tested and maintainable backend services using C#, .NET, and Java Spring Boot.
• Learn distributed system concepts, APIs, and asynchronous processing.
• Work with AWS services including DynamoDB, SQS, Lambda, and ECS.
• Build understanding of service communication, data persistence, and error handling.
• Seek guidance and ask questions to strengthen technical foundations.

• Apply secure coding practices and infrastructure standards with support from the team.
• Follow cloud security best practices, including least‑privilege access.
• Identify blockers and risks early.
• Learn how design and delivery choices affect system reliability and readiness.

• Take ownership of assigned work and deliver reliably.
• Ask for help when needed and follow through on commitments.
• Learn through code reviews, pairing, and feedback.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment!

• Use data, logs, and metrics to understand system behavior.
• Investigate issues such as message failures, Lambda errors, or ECS performance.
• Ask questions, test assumptions, and improve solutions through feedback.

• Adjust approach based on changing requirements or new insights.
• Learn from feedback and reflect on opportunities to improve.
• Build a strong foundation in backend engineering and cloud concepts.

• Share progress, risks, and technical updates clearly with the team.
• Ask thoughtful questions to clarify requirements and designs.
• Adapt communication style for engineers, product partners, and operations teams.

• Interest in backend software development and cloud technologies
• Familiarity with C#, .NET, Java, or Spring Boot
• Exposure to AWS or cloud‑native development is a plus
• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and grow in a production environment
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
