Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Junior Business & Data Analyst to support the design and development of data products within the IT Data Domain. You will work closely with senior analysts, Product Owners, and Data Engineers to analyze IT data sources, document requirements, and help define transformation logic that engineers implement using DBT and modern data platforms.

This is a great opportunity for an early-career analyst who enjoys working with data, learning new technologies, and contributing to meaningful data solutions that support IT Service Management, IT Operations, and related processes. Your work will help improve the quality, usability, and value of our data products, while giving you exposure to domain experts and modern data engineering practices.

What will you do in this role

Data Product Support & Requirements

· Assist in defining data product requirements, including data elements, business definitions, and user needs.

· Help gather, document, and refine user stories for data product enhancements or new features.

· Contribute to mapping source data from ITSM, IT Operations, monitoring tools, or CMDB systems into logical data structures.

Data Analysis & Transformation Logic

· Analyze source datasets to understand data availability, quality, and relationships.

· Document transformation logic—joins, filters, and basic derivations—that will be implemented by data pipeline engineers.

· Use SQL to explore data, validate assumptions, and support prototype creation.

Collaboration With Senior Team Members

· Work under guidance of senior analysts to develop data models, transformation rules, and documentation.

· Partner with data engineers to clarify requirements and ensure transformations are correctly understood before implementation.

· Support testing activities by validating that outputs meet requirements and expected logic.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

· Participate in requirement-gathering meetings, workshops, and refinement sessions.

· Communicate findings clearly, ask clarifying questions, and help prepare documentation for technical and business audiences.

· Practice active listening and bring thoughtful questions to challenge assumptions and improve solutions.

Learning, Growth & Contribution

· Learn about IT Service Management, IT Operations, system monitoring, and their data structures.

· Develop skills in SQL, data modeling, data product lifecycle, and data domain governance.

· Grow into a trusted analytical partner by taking ownership of smaller features and contributing to data product improvements.

What should you have :

Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.

· 1–3 years of experience in analytics, reporting, data analysis, or similar internship/entry-level role.

· Experience working with databases, writing SQL queries, or preparing data for reporting is a plus.

Technical Skills

· Basic SQL skills and willingness to grow into more advanced querying and data transformation.

· Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Spotfire, or similar) is beneficial.

· Understanding of data concepts like tables, joins, schemas, and data quality principles.
