Summary:
The Business Intelligence (BI) Visualization & Reporting Analyst position is a specialized role that focuses on developing and delivering insightful and visually impactful dashboards, reports, and modular ETL/ELT design and rigorous data quality controls (e.g., checks for duplicates, nulls, referential integrity) and uses AI tools (Copilot) to improve efficiency. The BI Visualization & Reporting Analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams, gathers requirements, designs and develops visualizations, performs data analysis, and ensures accurate and timely reporting to support data-driven decision-making and drive business growth for BMS globally.


​Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Design configurable, modular, and parameterized ETL/ELT flows (avoid hardcoding) with idempotent tasks and clear separation of extract/transform/load.
  • Implement data quality checks across core dimensions (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, validity, uniqueness) using SQL/Python; prevent duplication/drops and maintain referential integrity.
  • Use SQL and Python to understand current data processing steps and recommend simpler, more efficient alternatives; contribute to runbooks and data contracts.
  • Stay updated on trends in data visualization, BI tools, ETL/DataOps practices, and reporting methodologies; leverage Copilot to accelerate code scaffolding, unit tests, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements, understand key metrics and identify reporting and visualization needs. Partner with senior analysts to design interactive and user-friendly dashboards, reports and visualizations using BI tools
  • Create visually appealing and informative visualizations that communicate complex data sets and insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Perform data analysis to uncover patterns and insights that support strategic decision-making and business performance optimization
  • Stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data visualization, BI tools and reporting methodologies


Skills and competencies


  • Working knowledge of data visualization best practices, principles of effective design and user experience (UX) considerations.
  • Experience with data analysis, interpretation and visualization to derive actionable insights from complex datasets
  • Familiarity with data extraction, transformation and loading processes, data governance and data quality management
  • Strong SQL fundamentals (joins, window functions, CTEs) and basic Python (pandas) for profiling, transforms, and QC automation.
  • Ability to design and execute quality checks (nulls/range/duplicates/referential integrity) and monitor freshness/timeliness.
  • Understanding of dimensional modeling (facts/dimensions, grain selection, surrogate keys) and basic SCD Type‑1/Type‑2 concepts.
  • Awareness of parameterization and environment promotion (Dev/Test/Prod) principles for pipelines; familiarity with Git‑based workflows is a plus.
  • Solid communication skills with the ability to transparently share task plan, perceived priority, need for help etc.
  • Familiarity with the biopharma industry a plus , including knowledge of relevant data sources and KPIs
  • Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Copilot) to increase efficiency and accelerate learning.

Experience:


  • We welcome a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience (typically 0 to 2 years - work/internships/projects) in ETL pipeline, data exploration, QC design and BI visualization.
  • Have a strong commitment to a career in technology with a passion for healthcare
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI (semantic models, DAX basics, RLS awareness desirable)
  • Experience with data analysis, visualization, and report development; ability to profile sources and document grain/keys.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, SQL, and data manipulation techniques.
  • Good to have familiarity with Python coding and its libraries like Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib, Streamlit/DASH etc.,
  • Developing and optimizing prompts for AI systems, applying basic skills in generative AI is a plus.
