Position Summary:
Illumina is seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Business Systems Analyst to mature our Change and Release Management processes. This role will oversee these processes, leading change control meetings and reviewing changes and releases before and after. This role is responsible for continuous improvement and will maintain accurate documentation of the processes and changes to those processes. This individual will work closely with IT Teams to ensure that changes and releases are implemented according to all documented processes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement change management policies and procedures.
- Work with IT stakeholders to regularly review upcoming changes and suggest improvements to submissions.
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of IT changes, including planning, risk assessment, and impact analysis.
- Ensure all changes are documented, approved, and communicated effectively.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess the success of changes and identify areas for improvement.
- Plan and manage the release schedule for all IT projects and updates.
- Coordinate with development, testing, and operations teams to ensure successful deployment of releases.
- Maintain a release calendar and ensure all stakeholders are informed of upcoming releases.
- Monitor and report on the progress of releases, addressing any issues that arise.
- Work closely with project managers, developers, and other IT staff to ensure alignment and coordination of change and release activities.
- Provide training and support to staff on change and release management processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in change and release management.
- Facilitates weekly change management meetings for Infrastructure group.
- Serves as a member of our core IT Service Management team while being the lead for change and release management.
- Possesses a working knowledge of the ServiceNow Change and Configuration Management Modules.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years working within IT Service Management.
- At least 2 year’s experience in Change and Release processes.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and applications.
- Experience with ServiceNow CMDB in one or more in the following areas:
- Common Service Data Model
- Discovery
- Service Mapping
- Patterns
- Data Manager
- Experience managing infrastructure changing using ServiceNow.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively amongst multiple priorities.
- Experience using enterprise tools such as Visio or Lucid Chart, Teams, Confluence and Jira.
- Experience with writing and reading SQL queries for data reporting needs and analysis (preferred).
- Experience working in a regulated environment within a global company (preferred).
- Exceptional knowledge of ITIL processes or ServiceNow Admin/CMDB Certifications (preferred).
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Business, or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
