Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
1. Key Tasks and Deliverables
  • Develop and validate reduced-order multi-physics electrochemical models for lithium-ion cells and packs to predict performance under static and dynamic conditions.
  • Create computationally efficient simulation models for degradation prediction and calibrate using lab and field data for lifetime and warranty estimation.
  • Design coupled thermal-electrochemical models to assess performance and degradation under abusive test conditions.
  • Develop data-driven degradation models using machine learning techniques.
  • Analyze test and simulation data; prepare detailed technical reports.
  • Collaborate with testing teams and integrate developed models into vehicle-level simulations.
2. Critical Must-Have Deliverables
  • Accurate electrochemical and thermal models for lithium-ion cells and packs.
  • Validated degradation prediction models calibrated with real-world data.
  • Integration-ready simulation models for vehicle-level applications.
3. Good-to-Have Deliverables
  • Advanced machine learning-based predictive models for cell health monitoring.
  • Automation scripts for simulation workflows and data analysis.

Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in battery modeling, electrochemical simulations, and thermal analysis.Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink and GT-AutoLion.
Industry Preferred
  • Automotive OEMs, EV battery manufacturers, energy storage solution providers.

Qualifications
  • ME/MTech in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Metallurgical & Materials Engineering.

General Requirements

  • Electrochemical kinetics and battery performance analysis.
  • 1D battery modeling techniques and simulation tools.
Tools and Techniques Used:
  • GT-AutoLion, MATLAB/Simulink, Python programming.
