As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will act as the ‘Cloud Ambassador’ across all the cloud products, arming our customers with required tools & tactics to get the most out of their Product and Support investment.

Key job responsibilities
The AWS Support Engineering team is seeking engineers that enjoy solving problems, working with customers, and have technical backgrounds from a variety of different fields. Our mission is to provide technical solutions to customers. Also, this role supports AWS mobile technologies (Amplify, Device Farm, Pinpoint, etc). Mobile Services are some of the fastest growing areas of technology and we're excited to help developers innovate and deliver amazing experiences. Our support engineers are responsible for helping customers utilize all services offered within AWS. They also act as the "voice of the customer" to the development teams for recurring issues or feature requests. If you're experienced with mobile or web application development and you are more comfortable "getting your hands dirty," then we're looking for you!
A day in the life
On a typical day, a Support Engineer will be primarily responsible for solving customer’s cases through a variety of customer contact channels which include telephone, email, and web/live chat. - Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent experience in a technical position; 2+ years of relevant experience in a technical position (Support or System Administration); Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- Knowledge of some Developer & Mobile language/Services- Python, Ruby, PHP, Java, .NET, JavaScript, iOS/Objective-C/Swift, Rest API, inter-application messaging & queueing, develop mobile apps, version control systems, virtualization.
- Experience with web-based applications and HTTP.; Knowledge of client/server and distributed systems architectures (WebServers).; Troubleshooting skills on Linux, Networking; IPsec, VPN, Load Balancing, Iperf, DNS, DHCP, Routing Protocols, SSH, Network Monitoring.
- Experience developing against and working with REST API based services.
- Prior working experience with AWS services.; Experience with Cloud architecture patterns and distributed computing concepts.; Exposure to Mobile application development (iOS / Android).;Exposure to mobile and web application security best practices.; Experience around Messaging and Queueing services.
- Detailed knowledge of networking protocols: DNS, HTTP, SSL, SMTP, TCP; Exposure to security concepts / methodologies.; Experience with iperf, MTR, traceroute, dig; Experience handling full application stacks from the OS up through custom applications
- Experience with push notifications, APNS and GCM
