Job Description
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?Air Liquide Global E&C solutions’ business is excited to develop and grow a new Modularization Task Force (MTF) to govern the scope of Modularization across all projects, proposals, and regions. The Modularization Estimator will be a critical function for the success of the Modularization program. Focusing on transparency of quantities, cost, schedule, risk, and opportunities, the Modularization Estimator will help to align the Modularization Team with Proposal Management, Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, and the Construction Teams to develop a baseline plan for project execution.
Within the Modularization organization, the Estimator participates in increasing Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions’ ability to deliver reliable estimates of the Total Installed Cost (TIC) or Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of Procurement, Freight Forwarding, Fabrication, Assembly, Logistics, and Installation of Module Scopes for Client Proposals and Subcontract Commercial Bid Evaluations. Functionally reporting to the Global Director of Modularization, the Modularization Estimator is responsible for the preparation of Module cost estimates for proposals, projects, and contract estimates and the comparison of Modules and Stick-Built execution methodologies.
- The Estimator’s mission is to gather and to challenge all relevant information for the proposal estimate to provide the best possible level of estimating accuracy and highest transparency by collecting, challenging, compiling, and complementing all relevant cost information provided by the responsible disciplines.
- Depending on the accuracy required for the estimate, the costs are estimated by the Modularization Estimator alone during concept or in cooperation with the technical and commercial disciplines during Basic Engineering Design (BED) or Detailed Engineering Design (DED) in line with the Engineering, Estimating, and Project Execution Strategy.
- The Modularization Estimator produces the Modularization cost part of the proposal and assists the Global Modularization Director, Proposal Management team in determining the costs and comparing Modularization and Stick-Built Methodologies within the specified time schedule and the proposal man-hour budget.
- After contract award, the Estimator converts the proposal estimate into the initial Contract Estimate which forms the basis for project cost control under the responsibility of the Cost Controller.
- During Detailed Design, the Modularization Estimator will assist with cost prediction before Module Subcontract RFPs and support Commercial Bid Evaluation and “Apples to Apples” Bid Tabulation of Module Yard Proposals after bid.
- Estimating tools and procedures
