Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Analyst to join our team, focusing on data governance enablement and control. The ideal candidate will support the development and implementation of data governance frameworks, ensure data quality, and promote data management best practices across the organization.
 


This role focuses on ensuring data accuracy, monitoring data handling processes, and contributing to the continuous improvement of data control governance and change management practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for problem-solving with good project management skills.


Acts as a liaison among business stakeholders to elicit, analyse, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business products; processes and systems. Collects, analyses and synthesizes data to document requirements, ensuring needs of stakeholder are met. Understands product needs in the context of internal & external requirements and/or architecture development information.


About the Role:


  • Elicits and documents client business requirements.
  • Develops and improves business processes within the technology and business organizations, understanding business requirements, specifying and analyzing these to a sufficient level of detail to ensure clarity of definition.
  • Conduct preliminary Data Risk and Control Assessments to identify potential issues and suggest remediation steps.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with data control/governance standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support data handling practices to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal guidelines.
  • Manage data retention and disposal processes to ensure compliance with legal and business requirements.
  • Support and monitor data security measures to protect sensitive information.
  • Assist in refresh to Data control, governance Policies and Procedures, contributing insights and updates for process improvements.
  • Analyse and monitor in-scope data questions, issues, and requests, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that impact data quality and governance.
  • Collaborate with data stewards and business units to promote data control/governance best practices.
  • Provide training and support to employees on data governance and data management practices.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports to track data governance metrics and compliance.
  • Participate in data governance working groups and ensure escalations of unresolved issues or roadblocks
  • Ensures change management and communication of change to team is done in a systematic way for medium level projects.
  • Implements improvements to process or product as directed by management.
  • Develops a strong awareness and understanding of Thomson Reuters technologies, products, and services in assigned area.

About you:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role, with a focus on data control and governance with 2-5 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx etc).
  • Experience with data and governance frameworks and analytics tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Atlan, AI/BI Tools).
  • Thorough understanding of data pipeline and architecture and system infrastructures
  • Strong understanding of data control/governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) is a plus.

  • Criteria: Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Measurement: 95% Percentage of compliance with data governance standards and regulations.

Data Governance Adoption


  • Criteria: Promote and achieve widespread adoption of data governance practices.
  • Measurement: 80% Percentage of business units adopting data governance policies and procedures.

Issue Resolution Time


  • Criteria: Resolve data governance issues promptly.
  • Measurement: ~48-72 hours - Average time taken to resolve data and governance issues.
