In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Design and development of device descriptions (EDDL, FDI, FDT/DTM) that enable seamless integration of field devices into control systems.
  • Ensuring quality and compliance through validation processes.
  • Develop Proof-of-Concepts, prototypes and conduct feasibility analysis for new concepts/technologies of Device Descriptors using Field Device Integration (FDI) technology.


  • Collaborating across disciplines.
  • Reverse engineering, troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing DDs.


  • Expected to take on additional responsibilities as needed and operate effectively with minimal support.
     

Who You Are:

You are an engineer responsible for designing and developing device descriptors for field devices using FDI technology.
You bring knowledge about device descriptors and device communication protocols.


You collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to help build intuitive, reliable, and standards-compliant interfaces for field devices.



For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/ Instrumentation Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Device Description development / testing, device integration, commercial software product development.
  • Proficient in: Device description languages (EDDL, FDI, FDT/DTM), Embedded C/C++.


  • Familiarity with industrial protocols (HART, PROFIBUS, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, OPC UA) and field devices.


  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a complex team structure, including distributed (I.e. global) teams.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Experience working with Global teams 


  • Familiarity with scripting Python, JavaScript, CSS and HTML5.
